THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (VARIOUS ROADS, SHREWSBURY) (AMENDMENT NO. ) ORDER
Shropshire Council proposes to make the following changes to parking restrictions in Shrewsbury:
a) No Waiting At Any Time restrictions will be placed on:
Arlington Way
(north-west side)
Between a point 81.7 metres north-east of its junction with Featherbed Lane (measured from the back of the footway), and a point 15m north of its junction with Woodvine Road (measured from the centre of the junction).
Broughton Road
(both sides) From its junction with Meadow Farm Drive north-eastwards for a distance of 16 metres measured from the Give Way line.
Copthorne Drive
(south side)
(Section that contains no. 28 Copthorne Drive and no. 47 Copthorne Drive)
From a point 10 metres east of the party wall of no. 29 and no. 30 Copthorne Drive westwards for a distance of 41 metres
Corndon Crescent
(both sides) From its junction with Meadow Farm Drive south-westwards for a distance of 15 metres measured from the Give Way line.
Corporation Lane
(both sides) From a point adjacent to the property boundary of no. 4 and no. 5 Benbow Close, northerly to a point adjacent to the party wall of no. 7 and no. 8 Benbow Close.
Crowmeole Lane
(north-east arm extent running to Crowmeole Drive)
From its junction with Crowmeole Lane (Mytton Oak Road to Churchill Road) south-eastwards to a point 2 metres north-west of the north-westernmost building line of no. 5A Crowmeole Lane
Ennerdale Road
(west side) From a point 13 metres south of the southern kerb of Ainsdale Drive southwards for a distance of 36 metres.
Glendower Court
(both sides)
From its junction with Falstaff Street south-eastwards for a distance of 7 metres, measured from the Give Way line.
Greenfield Street
(both sides) From its junction with Hotspur Street westwards to a point 1 metre east of the easternmost building line of 1 and 2 The Mission, Greenfield Street.
Greenfield Street
(both sides) From a point 1 metre east of the party wall of no. 21 and no. 22 Greenfield Street to its junction with Percy Street.
Greyfriars Road
(south-west side)
From its junction with Belle Vue Road north- west for a distance of 15 metres, measured from the Give Way line.
Greyfriars Road
(south-west side)
Between a point 32 metres north-west of its junction with Belle Vue Road and a point 57 metres north-west of its junction with Belle Vue Road measured from the give way line.
Hotspur Street
(both sides) From a point 3 metres north of the party wall of no. 41 and 41A Hotspur Street to a point of 23m metres north of that point.
Kingston Drive (junction with Wenlock Road)
(both sides)
From its junction with Wenlock Road eastwards for a distance of 33 metres, measured from the Give Way line.
Kingston Drive (junction with London Road)
(both sides)
From its junction with London Road south-westwards for a distance of 27 metres, measured from the Give Way line.
Knightsbridge Close
(both sides) From its junction with Kingston Drive north-westwards for a distance of 17 metres, measured from the Give Way line.
Lancaster Road
(east side)
From point 3 metres south of the party wall of no. 159 and 161 Lancaster Road southwards for a distance of 33 metres.
Levens Drive
(both sides) From its junction with Lancaster Road to its junction with Ennerdale Road.
London Road
(south-west side)
From a point 6 metres south-east of the party wall of no. 97. and no. 99 London Road south-eastwards for a distance of 39 33 metres.
Meadow Farm Drive
(both sides) From a point 18 metres north-west of the party wall of no. 44 and no. 46 Meadow Farm Drive north-westwards for a distance of 41 metres.
Percy Street
(both sides) From a point 2 metres north of the southern-most building wall of no. 53 Percy Street southwards for a distance of 21 metres.
Preston Street
(north-east side)
From its junction with Abbey Foregate south-eastwards to a point 2 metres north-west of the property boundary of no. 27 and no. 29 Preston Street.
Preston Street
(south-west side)
From a point adjacent to the party wall of no. 28 and no. 30 Preston Street south-eastwards to a point 2 metres north-west of the property boundary of no. 27 and 29 Preston Street.
Somerby Drive
(east side) From its junction with Welshpool Road to a point 10m south of its junction with Winterton Way (measured from the rear of the footway on Winterton Way).
Between a point 25m north of its junction with Napoleon Drive and a point 36m south of its junction with Napoleon Drive (measured from the rear of the footway on Napoleon Drive).
From a point 6 metres south of the southern entrance to The Redwoods Centre car park southwards to the extent of the adopted highway.
Somerby Drive
(west side) Between a point 12 north and a point 10m south of its junction with The Furlongs (measured from the rear of the foot way on The Furlongs).
From the south side of the southern entrance to The Redwoods Centre car park southwards to the extent of the adopted highway.
Southgate Drive
(both sides) From its junction with Kingston Drive south-eastwards for a distance of 11 metres, measured from the Give Way line.
Wenlock Road
(east side)
From its junction with Anchorage Avenue northwards to the property boundary of no. 237 and no. 239 Wenlock Road.
b) Restricted Parking Zone - No Waiting At Any Time - No Loading
Monday-Saturday, 8.15am-9.15am and 4pm-6pm restrictions will be placed on:
Entrance to Shrewsbury Castle
(both sides) That land in the ownership of Shropshire Council from its junction with Castle Street and Castle Gates to a point 7 metres south-west of the north-easternmost building line of No. 24 Castle Street.
c) Loading Only - Monday–Saturday, 8am–10am & 2pm–4pm restrictions will be placed on:
Crowmere Road
(south side)
From a point adjacent to the property boundary of no. 45 Crowmere Road and no. 47 – 49 Crowmere Road, and a point adjacent to the property boundary of no. 47 - 49 Crowmere Road and no. 51 Crowmere Road.
d) No Waiting Monday-Saturday, 8am-6.30pm restrictions will be placed on:
Greyfriars Road
(south-west side)
Between a point 15 metres north-west of its junction with Belle Vue Road and a point 32 metres north-west of its junction with Belle Vue Road, measured from the Give Way line.
e) Limited Waiting Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm, 2 Hours No Return Within 1 Hour restrictions will be placed on:
Longden Road
(south-east side)
(Waiting bay south of Meole Brace School entrance)
From a point 57 metres north-east of the northern kerb line of Stanley Lane north-eastwards for a distance of 54 metres.
Stanley Lane
(north side)
(Waiting bay west of Meole Brace School pedestrian entrance)
From a point 124 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb line of Longden Road eastwards for a distance of 56 metres.
f) No Waiting or Loading At Any Time restrictions will be placed on:
Conway Drive
(both sides) From its junction with Monkmoor Road south-eastwards to a point 5 metres south-east of the property boundary of no. 10 and no.12 Conway Drive
Monkmoor Road
(south-east side)
From a point 1 metre north-east of the party wall of no. 263A and 263B Monkmoor Road south-westerly for a distance of 71 metres.
g) Limited Waiting Mon-Sat, 8am-6pm, 1 hour No return 1 hour restrictions will be placed on:
Greyfriars Road
(south-west side)
From a point 8 metres north-west of the property boundary of no. 13 and no. 14 Greyfriars Road to a point 57 metres north-west of the junction with Belle Vue Road measured from the give way line.
Any existing restrictions at these locations will be revoked.

The Preston Street proposals, and a slightly modified version of the Broughton Road proposals, were both implemented on 16 December 2023.
Please note that these proposals were first consulted upon in 2019. For legal reasons it has become necessary to begin the consultation again. Any responses Shropshire Council received during the 2019 consultation are still valid, and will be taken into account when a decision is made on whether to implement these proposals.
