Hours worked per week
The 2011 census results showed that:
- While most people worked full time, part-time working had become much more prevalent over the preceding decade, and at the time of the census 30.7% of all those in employment worked part time (26.2% in 2001)
- Men were still much less likely to work part time than women, but the number of men in part-time employment grew more rapidly than the number of women working part time since 2001
- Fewer people worked more than 48 hours per week than was the case in 2001
