If you wish to distribute free printed matter (leaflets, flyers, wristbands etc) within Shrewsbury Town Centre, Environmental Protection Act 1990 requires you to obtain a Distribution of Free Printed Matter Permit. 

Applying for a permit 

To apply for a permit you will need to complete the application form attached below and send it to licensing with the appropriate fee - the fee is applicable per distributor. 

Please ensure applications are received a month in advance of the date required. 

Exemptions 

A distribution of free printed matter permit is not required where the distribution is: 

(a)  by or on behalf of a charity within the meaning of the Charities Act 1993, where the printed matter relates to or is intended for the benefit of the charity.

(b)  for political purposes or for the purposes of a religion or belief.

Who needs one?

This licence is required by anyone wishing to distribute free printed matter within Shrewsbury Town Centre.

How long will it take?

Applications must be received at least one month before the distribution is intended.

How much will it cost?

There is a fee for issuing this document, which is taken when you apply.
