Woore Neighbourhood Plan
Designation
An application by Woore Parish Council to designate a neighbourhood plan area went out for public consultation from 25 September to 9 November 2015. The application was approved by Shropshire Council's Cabinet on 10 February 2016.
Submission
Shropshire Council received a submission of the draft Woore Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents from Woore Parish Council and consulted on these documents in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, from 25 September 2015 to 6 November 2015.
Examination
In November 2018, John Parmiter FRICS FRSA MRTPI was appointed as the independent examiner for the plan. He assessed the plan to decide if it met the basic conditions and could proceed to a referendum with modifications.
Referendum
A referendum was held 30 May 2019. The result was 95.09% in favour of Shropshire Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Woore to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area.
Adoption
At its Council meeting on 25 July, Shropshire Council resolved to ‘make’ the Woore Neighbourhood Plan.
The ‘making’ of the Plan means the Plan is adopted and now forms part of the statutory development plan for the area.
The adopted plan can be viewed on this page and on request at the Shropshire Council’s offices at Shirehall, Shrewsbury.
