Recycling and reuse

Recycling

Please refer to our website and recycling policy for further information, including reference to single-use plastics. Both domestic and commercial recycling is delivered by our service provider Veolia Shropshire.

Find out how you can achieve economic benefits and resource efficiency.

Plastic Free Communities (hosted by Surfers Against Sewage) is about kicking our addiction to avoidable single-use plastic and changing the system that produces it: "We're creating the Plastic Free Community network to free where we live from single use. Together we're tackling avoidable single-use plastic, from the beach all the way back to the brands and businesses who create it."

Re-use

Warp it logoThe distribution platform Warp-it (Waste Action Re-use Portal) is for repurposing stationery, furniture, and other work equipment. This service helps to relocate office furniture and equipment to where it's needed, and is free for use by the public sector, schools and academy trusts, charities, and not-for-profits. You can repurpose equipment within your own organization or donate items charities and schools across the West Midlands. Our 700 members have collectively saved:

  • £164k (in procurement and disposal costs)
  • 45 tonnes waste avoided
  • 125 tonnes CO2 greenhouse gas emissions saved
  • 171 trees equivalent or 40 cars off the road

What items can be reused through Warp It?

Any work-related item (including working from home); for example, furniture, stationery, office equipment.

How do I register?
