Description

These proposals are:

1/ For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the roads or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of such danger arising

2/ For preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the roads runs

3/ For any of the purposes specified in s.87(1)(a-c) of the Environment Act 1995 (air quality):

  • Working to deliver part of the government’s “Road to Zero” strategy, which includes offering grants for plug-in cars, vans, taxis and motorcycles until at least 2020
  • Shropshire Council joined one of two partnerships to successfully submit a bid for the government’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) scheme which provided funding towards capital costs of electric vehicle chargepoint infrastructure for residential areas which do not benefit from off-street parking

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (AMENDMENT) ORDER 

Shropshire Council proposes to prohibit vehicles from parking at any of the locations below, unless the vehicle is being charged from an electricity supply unit:

Church Stretton

 Essex Road

Western Side, from the back of the footway between its junction with McClintock Place for 22 metres in a northeasterly direction.

Ludlow

Charlton Rise

Northwestern side, from a point 14 metres north east of its junction with Sheet Road, for a distance of 36 metres in a northeasterly direction.

Ludlow

Sandpits Road

North side, from a point 24 meters west of its junction with Whitbread Road in the existing layby for 36 metres in a westerly direction.

Oswestry

 5 Liverpool Road

North side, in existing unrestricted bay from the western extent for 47.8 metres.

Shifnal

Victoria Road

North side, outside Victoria Court from a point 97.8 metres northwest of its junction with Bradford Street, for a distance of 24 metres in a northwesterly direction.

Longden Road

North side, outside Pengwern Court from a point 20 metres southwest of its junction with Kingsland Road, for a distance of 36 metres in a southwesterly direction.

South side, from a point six metres east of its junction with Belvidere Road for 60 metres in a westerly direction.

Southeastern side, from a point 93 metres southwest of its junction with John Street in the existing layby for 36 metres.

South side, from a point 53 metres west of its junction with Wayland Road in an existing layby for a distance of 36 metres in a northwesterly direction.

South side, from a point 20 metres west of its junction with Elizabeth Street for 36 metres in a westerly direction.
