We know that not everyone wants the same things included in a wedding ceremony and work hard to provide our couples with the experience of their choice whilst ensuring that at the end they are legally married or have a legally formed civil partnership. To try to ensure that all of our couples get what they want we have five packages available to you.
Basic statutory
Do you want a no frills affair? This ceremony takes place in a registrars office in our Shrewsbury Register Office and includes just the statutory words. We refer to these as 2+2 as only the couple and their 2 witnesses are able to attend. These ceremonies are able to take place only on Wednesdays throughout the year. Traditional
Do you want a short traditional civil marriage ceremony with some readings and music? This ceremony can take place either at an approved venue or in one of our Ceremony rooms (Castle View or The Paul Ainscough Room, Shirehall). This includes a traditional civil marriage ceremony incorporating a choice of legal declaratory and contracting words, 2 short readings, 3 pieces of music and the traditional civil vows. Enhanced
Do you want something a bit more special? This ceremony can take place either at an approved venue or in one of our Ceremony Rooms (Castle View or The Paul Ainscough Room, Shirehall) it includes a 30 minute bespoke ceremony, designed with you and written for you, a choice of legal declaratory and contracting words, 2 readings, 3 pieces of music, solemn and dignified personal vows, 3 video call sessions with your chosen registrar plus follow up emails. Enhanced bespoke
You want something very special? This ceremony can take place either at an approved venue or in one of our Ceremony Rooms (Castle View or The Paul Ainscough Room, Shirehall) it includes a bespoke ceremony (up to 1 hour) designed with you and written for you, a choice of legal declaratory and contracting words, 2 readings, 3 pieces of music, solemn and dignified personal vows, in person visits with your chosen registrar in Shropshire, up to 3 video call sessions with your chosen registrar plus follow up emails, liaison with your wedding planner and photographer. In addition you can choose to have your pre ceremony interview up to one week prior to the big day to allow you that extra time on the day itself.
Blended
You want something entirely different? This ceremony provides all options - a basic no frills 2+2 legal service in a registrars office at the register office in Shrewsbury on a date and time of your choice. In addition you get all of the elements of the enhanced bespoke ceremony but you can have it at a venue of your choice which is not licensed for civil marriages for example - A Village Hall, your garden... Get the best of both worlds.
