Training

• All staff delivering NHS health checks are required to have completed the relevant e-learning modules – an overview of the modules and competency framework can be found on the health check webpages
• All staff should undertake online NHS health check training at E-learning for Health
• All staff should be certified by Alere (Abbott) to use the Point of Care Afinion AS100 device. The training is completed online and can be accessed via the training request form
• A localised checklist has been produced to assist with working through the competency framework

Additional e-learning modules for NHS health checks, to be undertaken prior to delivery, include:

• Dementia training
• Alcohol IBA primary care e-learning resource
• Diabetes UK CPD

In addition further training on the All Our Health Programme is available on the NHS website. This includes modules in key areas of the NHS Health Check Programme, including:

• Healthy eating and adult obesity
• Falls and fractures
• CVD prevention
• Physical activity
• Smoking and tobacco
• Alcohol
