"Nana and Serafym had only been married since 23 January 2022, and shortly afterwards the war between Ukraine and Russia commenced, at which point it was agreed between them both that Nana should leave Ukraine to be safe and Serafym would also make an application to leave Ukraine to be with his wife at the earliest opportunity, and if the Ukrainian government would allow it. Nana arrived in the UK in April 2022 and Serafym joined her recently, securing employment with his host's neighbour doing carpentry and building work.

He commented very positively about the support that his hosts have provided to him since arriving in the UK, and he is also very grateful to his host for allowing Nana to move to their address to live with him. They are both very happy to be together again and were very positive about how well they have been received by people in Shrewsbury and the local community. It was very evident that they were very happy to be reunited."
