A newly formed Cultural Consortium has been launched as part of HSHAZ to carry out a series of cultural events throughout the town over the coming years.

The consortium consists of members of cultural, tourism, business and heritage organisations as well as individuals who have come together to create a programme which celebrates the unique culture of the town.

The consortium has come about thanks to funding from Historic England, National Lottery and Arts Council England and will enable the cultural consortium to plan a series of events until 2024 which will give an opportunity for communities and visitors to engage with their high street through art, culture and history.

So far the consortium has funded the creation of a research guide for the town as well as holding the successful Love Oswestry Event where the town came together to celebrate and bring light into the dark through illumination of the hillfort and its lantern parade.
